Tuesday, September 30th, 2014: Espinol Crowned AL Bat King
The 2014 baseball season has come to a close. And what a year it has been for Seattle's Abera Espinol. He capped off an all-star caliber year with the American League batting title.

He topped all comers with a .381 batting average and registered 17 home runs and 79 RBIs in 151 games.
Thursday, September 25th, 2014: Angels of Anaheim Shut Out Mariners, Hernandez Winner
In an impressive outing, Gabriel Hernandez whitewashed the Seattle Mariners 2-0.

"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Hernandez, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.

"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."

The Los Angeles (A) hurler held Seattle scoreless, allowed 6 hits, chalked up 6 strikeouts and yielded no walks.

In 2014 Hernandez has posted a record of 15 wins and 10 losses with a 4.08 ERA. He has appeared in 31 games and struck out 95 in 187.2 innings.
Thursday, September 25th, 2014: 3B Comes to Terms; Signs Extension with Mariners
Reports began circulating several days ago that Josh Fields would re-sign with the Mariners, but didn't materialize until today when the club officially confirmed SION's reports.

Details were sketchy, though Seattle did say Fields would be with the club 1 year beyond his current deal.

Fields is batting .259 this season in 151 games with 23 home runs, 86 RBIs and 95 runs scored. He has 141 hits in 545 at-bats.
