Thursday, October 23rd, 2014: Spider, Atlanta Reach Agreement on Extension
A $11,600,000 package keeping Bob Spider a member of the Braves has been accepted by the player and his agent. Spider will earn $5,800,000 annually over the next 2 years.

In 33 starts this year Spider has posted 15 wins while suffering 12 losses. He has pitched 193.1 innings, allowed 190 hits, struck out 212 and has a 4.00 ERA.
Tuesday, September 30th, 2014: 2014 NL Batting Title to Brian McCann
Braves catcher Brian McCann hit the cover off the ball all year long and today picked up the National League batting crown.

The 30-year-old McCann hit .372 with 35 home runs and 103 RBIs. He also delivered 207 hits, including 43 doubles and 1 triple, played in 143 games and scored 116 runs.
Sunday, September 28th, 2014: Anderson Blanks Atlanta
Craig Anderson of the Cincinnati Reds was really in the zone as he mowed down the Atlanta hitters 2-0 in a sterling mound performance.

"I'm feeling good overall," he said.

"I'm executing my pitches, I'm able to hit my spots and I'm getting outs in key situations."

Anderson shut down the Atlanta Braves, blanking them on 3 hits while registering 10 strikeouts and 2 walks.

In 33 starts this season Anderson has crafted a 11-11 record with a 3.51 ERA.
