Fans in Florida ushered in Carlos Marmol today as their new starting pitcher. The 31-year-old came to terms with the Marlins and will be hauling in $4,550,000 a year over 2 years.
This season Marmol has compiled a 4-8 record with a 5.26 ERA.

 | Monday, September 15th, 2014: Harden on Rampage Against Mets!
Chris Harden was on fire today and sparked his club to a 9-2 victory over the Mets. The Florida third baseman was a tough out and went 5 for 5 against New York (N) in a fine hitting display.
"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody...and some days they fall in."
C. Harden singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
In 2014 Harden is batting .875 with no home runs.

 | Tuesday, August 26th, 2014: Rolen Collects Hit Number 2500
Florida's Scott Rolen got the standing ovation -- but the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers got the win.
It was a historic day at Dolphins Stadium. A day when Rolen notched hit #2500 of his career. The fans went wild when he did. Even the Dodgers fans applauded.
The Marlins third baseman went 1-4 in a losing cause as Los Angeles (N) spoiled the party with the 10-4 victory.
In the postgame interview, a downhearted Rolen told the media, "We lost -- It's not about individual accomplishments -- we lost."
When pressed further, he admitted his pride in reaching the 2500-hit mark, "A lot of great players never get there. I'm proud, but I would be happier if we had won."
In 2495 games, Rolen is a lifetime .270 hitter. He has knocked in 1582 runs, scored 1499 times, hit 413 home runs, walked 1163 times and has an on-base percentage of .356.
