Tuesday, August 26th, 2014: Schoonhoven Puts Spell on Milwaukee
The Milwaukee Brewers struggled at the plate today against Pirates hurler Allen Schoonhoven, who shackled them on 4 hits while hurling a complete game 10-0 shutout.

"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Brewers skipper in his postgame comments.

"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."

Schoonhoven finished the game with 9 strikeouts and 5 walks in an excellent mound performance.

"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Allen made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."

Year-to-date Schoonhoven has made 25 starts and put up a 15-4 won-lost record with a 3.11 ERA. In 173.2 innings he has allowed 139 hits, walked 90 and struck out 159.
Wednesday, August 13th, 2014: 3 Home Runs for Esparraguera!
It was a good day for Milwaukee and an exceptional day for Horado Esparraguera. The 26-year-old first baseman sent 3 bombs out of the park to help the Brewers beat the Houston Astros 15-6 at Miller Park.

Following the game, he was asked about his performance. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Esparraguera commented, "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."

For the day he scored 4 times, drove in 5 runs and smacked 3 hits in 3 at-bats.

H. Esparraguera hit a solo-shot off R. Wells in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off R. Wells in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off R. Wells in the 5th, walked in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

Thus far this year Esparraguera has hit .231 with 15 home runs and 57 RBIs.
Sunday, August 10th, 2014: Steve Schroer Extends Stay with Milwaukee
A throng of media gathered as Steve Schroer announced that he had come to terms with the Brewers and that he would be sticking around town another 1 year. Schroer is set to draw $7,500,000 in pay over that time.

This season Schroer has been credited with 2 saves. In 53 relief appearances and 73.2 innings he has a 5-1 won-lost mark, a 2.32 ERA and 92 strikeouts.
