| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014: Royals Defeat Nationals It was Kansas City and Washington challenging one other in the 2014 Major League Baseball Dreams World Series this season. On paper, there wasn't much difference between the two strong ballclubs, but on the field, the verdict went to the Royals.

They defeated the Nationals 4-3 in the series, winning the last game today by a 3-2 score. |  | Sunday, September 28th, 2014: Sanchez Tosses Shutout Humberto Sanchez of the Detroit Tigers gave the Royals a steady diet of fine pitches and he walked off the mound with a complete game shutout. He blanked them 5-0 on 2 hits with a total of 12 strikeouts and 2 walks.
The Detroit manager said, "Sanchez was on quite a roll. He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters."
On his 2014 stats sheet Sanchez shows a 14-13 record, 32 starts, 220.1 innings, 214 strikeouts and a 4.98 ERA. |  | Friday, September 19th, 2014: Gonzalez 5-5 for Royals 5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Xa Gonzalez of the Kansas City Royals had a sensational 5-5 game against Minnesota at Ewing M. Kauffman Stadium. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 16-12 shellacking of the Twins.
In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off...Right, skipper?"
X. Gonzalez hit a solo-shot off A. Swarzak in the 2nd, hit a three-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
